And to ambient: the search function in Altoholic is not enough for you ?
Granted, I mostly use it to find on which character(s) are my items.
Also, having some organisation helps a lot on finding stuff ^^

I have been using a mod called BankItems for a couple years. I provides visual displays of all bags/bank for your current logged char and all alts. Also shows guild banks. All items are searchable by name. Search results show toon/bag#/loc. Available on wowinterface.

I also use and LOVE Altoholic. Definitely worth checking out. I pair it with Bagnon, but Altoholic’s tooltip function is far superior: it identifies items in your mailbox and on the AH, in addition to just bags and bank. (FYI, you turn off Bagnon tooltips buy deleting or disabling the Bagnon_Tooltips addon; you can’t do it from an options window.)

But GuildBankSearch sounds like a godsend. ::runs off to download::

All of those things can be done with Altoholic, besides the highlighting thingie from Bagnon.

The bag addon I use is MyBags… old and wise, as you could say.
It doesn’t have searching or highlighting features, since all it takes is some organisation.
To each his own :]
