Cheers everyone,
My name is Tykot, and I’m an aspiring Deathknight on US Silvermoon (PVE).
Thanks to shadowpriest.com and Elitist Jerks, I mastered both Shadow and Holy Priest specs during Burning Crusade. I captained my guild’s 25-man healing and raid strategies over the majority of our progression.
I decided there was nothing more frustrating than not being able to find a tank or be able to push them faster for smoother runs. So after taking a year-off for the birth of my daughter, I’ve returned and rolled a Deathknight to fulfill my tanking itch, and decided that along the way I might as well master DPS too!
I’ve been playing online games since 1997, accomplishing a lot of fun (and kills) along the way:
- Baronnight, world-ranked #1 over the course of 3 years in Multiplayer Battletech: Solaris (MPBT), and five-time Solaris Champion. Winner of the last 64-man tournament on AOL (1997).
- Rage, O.G. of +M*K+, Aliens Online’s premiere marine killing clan.
- Khalet, member of Ultima Online’s The Black Hand [Pacific], mentioned in the original Origin strategy guide.
- Merlin, field captain of a derivative guild of Ultima Online’s Red [Lake Superior], one of the most incredible UO pvp guilds of all time.
- Massacre, of a Starcraft clan named The Continuum, a world top-400 1vs1 ladder player.
- Nyht, proud Agent of Anarchy Online’s Shadowbreed Inc, the game’s premiere pvp twink org.
At one point I was also a Quake2 CTF fanatic, ranked #1 in Unreal Tournament for a day (railgun + Mountain Dew), and an unabashed headshot hacker in Counterstrike 1.6.
Generally speaking, I gravitate towards the top pvp guild in any game I tend to play. However, I play on a PVE server today because I have about 7 real-life friends that play on Silvermoon, so I really have no choice! Once I started helping them PVE raid, I sort of fell in love with that atmosphere and challenge, and I continue to focus my Warcraft time on PVE today.
I also find Athene hilarious, and subscribe to his motto: you’re either pro or noob, that’s life.
Professionally, I’m an IT manager and computer programmer, which was a hobby of mine since the age of 12. It’s no longer a hobby, feels more like work : P
