 Site is back up now. I stuffed it up and then cascading complications led to outage. History: Hiya, I’m working on the problems on the forums which give 404 errors all over the place. Sorry for the hassle. I know what I changed that broke it (installing eaccelerator) but it doesn’t make much sense to have had this consequence. It’s 9am EST, nearly 11pm in Sydney; getting a bit late here and I haven’t been able to fix  This article is a review of LiquidWeb as a hosting company, with whom I had a dedicated server for five months, and am now using one of their cloud servers. Since I’m fairly sure I’ll also buy a Logitech G13, this means I do not need a gaming qwerty keyboard. I could get anything really. When you play with a G13 and a Naga mouse, you do not need a normal keyboard in fights anymore. I’ll have a whole forum structure dedicated to Cataclysm content, making it easier to find information on zones, instances, gear, quests, levelling, DK changes in detail, Goblins, Worgen, game mechanics changes and so on. I wonder how raiding schedules will change in Cataclysm. The new systems implemented with emblem limits alongside the shared raid ID for 10 and 25s. I had dinner tonight with a very good friend of mine, with whom I’ve played WoW since launch. He’s quit. The game is addictive, we all know that, and have to balance our desire to play against real-world obligations. We should balance it. At time in the past, I’ve been more dedicated to WoW. Firstly a warning: if you are a blogger, do not think you can automatically make money from WoW blogging. Don’t read this and think “whoa, a pot of gold, all I have to do is repeat what tankspot did”. When I first joined my guild, on trial, I sometimes played as a dps before securing my spot in our tank corp. At another time in the past, I had a tank spec and pvp dps spec. For the third time, just now, only hours before our progression raid on Sindragosa which hopefully I was due to join (ie. not rotated), my goddamn authenticator locked itself. This is the third time! I doubt I’ve been hacked, this is some strange behaviour in the battlenet system. Makes me want to punch the wall and break my knuckles. Then cry a lot. Update: 24 hours later, still can’t log on. Blizzard have unlocked it twice now, but then Mine hates gaming, not WoW per se, but all computer games. “It’s not productive.” I knew a guy who was really into golf. He went for a two week golf holiday, leaving his pregnant wife at home while he travelled to Scotland. Then, all year, he played golf every Saturday morning (at least), for what four hours or however long 18 holes takes, and would try to do some swings most mornings. He was more addicted to golf than ICC is now at 10%. A few topics related to this: 1. Eventually you can change gem strategy from stamina to avoidance, because you will simply have enough stamina. I think he was no older than a year. My wife would feed him, then go to sleep exhausted early in the evening, and I’d stay up with him.
