Most of us will have a rune-watching addon of some kind, or be using whatever is built-in to your unitframes. Runes obviously are important to keep an eye on, along with diseases on the target. So which of the many rune addons to use? There are a lot of them. In the forums, Deph has compiled all the addons with a brief description and screenshot. He’s also classified whether they include disease watching, global cooldown, melee range and other TankadinTPS is the mis-named addon which gives you fantastic in-game threat analysis, by ability. I can’t log onto those characters to add their time, and to be frank I have A new addon Spamalyzer is available, which replaces the addon fubar_addonSpamFu. Addons like GearScore (it’s badly coded) and Carbonite can spam the crap out of you when other people have them installed. Note this happens even if you do not have it installed. Other users’ addons generate addon chat traffic. It can be very large and cause latency and lag, unless coded properly like Elitist Group is. Name’s very similar. wowmatrix is not the only site being RankWatch: this addon watches the rank of spells you or party members use. If it’s lower than the maximum available, it whispers them or mentions it to you. In levelling my druid alt in 5-mans, I often find it telling people about spells they’re using. A few have replied saying thanks. You can end up having lower ranked spells yourself because of not training both when levelling up dual spec, or because you haven’t updated the spells in your I came across this today, TidyPlates, and it’s a great replacement to the periodically maintained, hard-to-configure Aloft. Note the version on Curse is older, so install it via wowinterface, not the Curse client. Name plate mods help you know up who you have threat on, and who you’ve lost, and should be designed to reduce visual clutter. Those guilds going up against Putricide you might find it helpful. Saves alt-tabbing to whichever website you use. It can learn boss’ abilities (make sure you turn this on; it’s off by default). At 400 now on my reroll DK. I use the SexyMap addon combined with GatherMate to get a HUD when flying around, and for overview of node locations on my maps. The two addons are integrated within the SexyMap configuration. The HUD is best explained with a video, so I put one together (narrated) to show you. Because the HUD hides your normal minimap, I have a Found some great addons too, but first a snippet on levelling: I ran the no-epidemic unholy dps specs in the simulator for L68, to see how it scales at low gear levels. Result is it checks out at the same dps as traditional. I updated my Death Knight levelling specs page with builds. It just got updated to v3.310 and is now compatible with patch 3.22. If you’re not already using TankTotals, let me point out that in a prior patch the author Reynard added a few nice features. I particularly like his time-to-live calculation which even factor in expertise/parry-haste, which will be interesting for everyone including dual-wield tanks. Talk about information overload and obscuring vision. See if you can beat it. I’ll give US$2 via paypal to whoever produces the worst tanking UI. Use the vote buttons to say who has the best of the bad (ie. thumbs up means, this is a really crap screenshot). This isn’t democracy but it’d be fun to see votes. Yes, that’s a I like this addon, Boss Notes. Gives you an in-game notebook for each boss. Comes with dot-point reminders of the key things for Ulduar bosses, for example, and you can enter your own. These can be broadcast to a channel you choose.

It works correctly with 3.2 mechanics, but you have to edit the TOC file (to 30200) since he forgot to do that. What really surprised me is it only took about five minutes to reconfigure. I had been worried. It was fast because they seem to use the built-in action bars in a similar way, so the spell-assignments were all transferred. All I had to do was position them where I wanted and disable a few which I don’t use (empty ones). Nearly all the keybindings had remained too, so just A few times I’ve come across this site Vranx, most recently when looking for a replacement for Elkano Buffbars (I’m speculating it’s causing this horrible drop to like 5 FPS I get in a few situations like Razorscale and Mimiron). What I like is it has a categorisation of addons and set of recommendations within each. You can save a lot of time by starting your search at Vranx, rather than google/curse/wowinterface. It’ll give you a short-list. 3.2: it Aug 18: TankPoints r108 released (it includes the new 3.2 RatingBuster maths so it will calculate avoidance correctly), but not pushed with correct TOC yet. Just edit the TOC yourself, this is safe. I tested it, works with 3.2. Update Aug 17: Whitetooth’s released an updated RatingBuster which means TankPoints is getting closer. They share a statistics library. Update Aug 10: I got a PM from Whitetooth, he is working on the new version. Says it’ll be ready ’soon’. Original post: I’ve emailed Whitetooth twice now, author of Tankpoints. We’re corresponded in the past because I wrote the user guide. He hasn’t replied yet, and nor have the tickets on wowace been accepted (I found a bug that Frigid Dreadplate is not being added in the to-miss calculation). In 3.2, the avoidance mechanics change and so he has to update Tankpoints or we can’t use it anymore. I haven’t seen a beta version to test on the PTR. In contrast, TankTotals has been updated a few times recently and looks like the author is ready for 3.2. So what are the differences? I hate errors like this. Error 132 and a bunch of meaningless codes. So annoying and time wasting. Crashed during Ulduar 25 and server took nearly 10 minutes to realise I was gone, to allow me back in. Going to investigate and google this now; initial reports are it relates to memory. You’d think a new beast PC like mine wouldn’t have such problems develop. One thing I loved about the old Mac I had; very stable. Thing I WoL has a very good feature which lets you see when important buffs are up on. I was checking a log for a mate on dk.info who was dying repeatedly on XT in 25-man. I did some investigation in WoL. I told him there wasn’t enough healing on the tank, probably too few assign on MT duty, some poor spell choices and not enough initial healing after the pull. I noticed not enough healing buffs on him too; Inspiration I used to have an addon called Possessions which is no longer maintained, and finally decided to look for a replacement. I want to be able to search, by name, for an item to see if I have it somewhere, guild bank, my bank, bags or alts. Here’s what I found. BankGUI Even better than my old standard, BankGUI also know about my tradeskills, equipped glyphs, has a ‘to farm’ list you can write, and is nicely integrated to Matticus, a raid leader and prolific blogger, has written up his GUI which comments on the addons he uses. This is a great write-up because he’s a raid leader and uses many tools specifically for that purpose. Read the article at nostockui. Higher FPS in a raid means higher DPS and better reaction-time to events.
